State government shifts attention towards manufacturing sector

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government will soon put in place a single window sytem to speed up industrial projects in Bihar as now it wants to shift its attention towards manufacturing sector.

According to the Principal Secretary (Industries) Naveen Verma the manufacturing sector will most definitely emerge as the next engine of growth in Bihar and contribute significantly to the double digit growth rate.

At present the manufacturing sector contributes 16 per cent of the growth rate of Bihar, which has been driven primarily by constrution, public investment and trade and commerce.

Speaking to the media after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s monthly deliberations with industrialists he said the state government was committed to push through reform measures for increased industrial activities. A single window system to clear proposals for industrial projects will be in place in a month.

A nodal officer has been appointed in all departments related to industries to expeditiously clear the proposals related to the concerned departments.

He said that the state government would like the food processing sector to grow rapidly as agriculture is the primary economic activity in Bihar.

Industries Minister Renu Kumari Kushwaha, who was present at the interaction with the enterpreneurs, said that the state government would positively consider demands like commercial taxes rationalisation on industrial products, land and other facilities by the interested investors.
