Melinda calls on Nitish, CM presents sari

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Thursday that Bihar government would open a plus two school in every panchayat in the state to encourage education, particularly among girls.

Nitish told Melinda Gates, co-chairperson of the US-based Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that the spread of education among girls would help in stabilizing the population of the state.

Melinda met the chief minister and praised the work done in the health sector in the state––particularly those related to polio and kala azar eradication.

They both discussed the works being done in the field of kala azar in the state.

He requested Melinda to expand its activities in all 38 districts of Bihar. At present the Foundation is working with the Bihar government on five-year partnership in the health sector, particularly immunization, vaccination and institutional delivery in eight districts of Bihar.

The chief minister presented a sari with Madhubani art print to Melinda Gates.
