Cabinet approves construction of road over bridge, DIET schools

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): To ease traffic congestion in Patna the state cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod for construction of a road over-bridge (ROB) from Mithapur roundabout to the Chiraiyatand bridge. The ROB will be built on the northern side of Patna Junction.

Talking to media Secretary (Cabinet Coordination department) Brajesh Mehrotra said the total estimated amount of Rs 167.85 crore has been approved for this purpose. He said the ROB would connect with Exhibition Road which ends near Gandhi Maidan.

He said that the existing road towards Gandhi Maidan would be expanded accordingly by constructing two lanes each of 5.5 metre width. It would ease traffic jams on the Exhibition Road stretch.

The cabinet also approved a sum of Rs 150 crore on construction of 15 district institute of educational training (DIET) schools.

It also approved a sum of Rs two crore for completion of the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Bihar centre, building.
