RJD MLA protests at Sibal’s function after being ignored

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ignored by the state government at a function which was attended among others by Union Information and Technology minister Kapil Sibal and chief minister Nitish Kumar, the Rashtriya Janata Dal MLA of Maner, Bhai Birendra, made a strong protest forcing them to allow him to speak.

The MLA charged the state government with violating protocol in the function as his name was missing in the invitation card as well in the plaque of foundation laying function of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) near Bihta under Patna district.

When everyone was seated on the dais he stood up to accuse the state government for not maintaining protocol and ignoring opposition legislator in official function.

He said this is happening for the second time. Earlier too he was meted out a similar treatment at a function in his constituency, which was attended by Kapil Sibal in Bihta.

The MLA said it is not only his insult but insult of the people of the constituency.

Sibal assured the MLA that it might be an unintentional mistake. Both the Union minister and Nitish tried to calm the MLA by giving the latter a chance to speak.

Speaking on the occasion he lashed out at the Bihar government for ill-treating opposition party MLAs. Both Sibal and Nitish spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of information technology.
However, after the function was over the Union minister was seen soothing the upset MLA.
