RJD at 17 puts up a brave front ahead of fodder scam ruling

Patma.(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal tried to put up a brave front on the 17th anniversary of the party even as the fear of fodder scam ruling by Ranchi CBI court looms large on the face of leaders and workers, especially its supremo, Lalu Prasad.

That was the one reason why aggressive Lalu, while speaking on the occasion, repeatedly referred to the unity in the party when he first went to jail and Rabri Devi had to become the chief minister in July 1997 in a very difficult situation. He asked partymen to remain united and scoff all the speculations and rumours of likely split.

He chose to hit out at the chief minister Nitish Kumar and once again alleged that the latter is sitting on the lap of RSS. The RJD chief reiterated that by repeatedly praising Lal Krishna Advani, who led a mob which demolished Babri Masjid, Nitish has shown his real intention. The RJD leader warned the people, especially Muslims, not to be carried away by Nitish’s anti-Narendra Modi rhetoric as he is doing so at the instance of Sangh Parivar. After all he was one who showered praise on the Gujarat chief ministers several times in the past.

Lalu said that the Nitish government has become highly unpopular and great resentment is prevailing in its rank and file of his party.

Lalu said separate teams comprising leaders from different social groups would soon undertake a tour of villages in various nooks and corners of the state to expose the doublespeak of Nitish government.
The former Railway Minister announced that the next training session of party workers would be held at Rajgir, where JD(U) often holds such show.

Besides Lalu, the other three MPs Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Jagdanand Singh and Prabhunath Singh were present on the occasion.

Apart from them those who spoke were former ministers Shakuni Choudhary, Veena Shahi, state president, Ramchandra Purve, leader of opposition, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, party’s general secretary Ram Kripal Yadav, former MP, Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi and others. Two former legislators, Prem Kumar Mani and Shahdev Paswan, joined the party on the occasion.

Mani, a former JD(U) MLC is a renowned Hindi writer as well as the founder member of Samata Party, the earlier version of Janata Dal(United).

A large number of MLAs, former legislators and other leaders were present at this celebration organized in the party office. comments powered by Disqus
