Nitish not at all concerned about blasts: Sushil Modi

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday once again hit out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar calling his visit to Bodh Gaya after the blast as an eyewash.

Modi, who is on a 24-hour fast here in protest against the terror attack, said that the serial blasts could have been averted had adequate security arrangements been made at Mahabodhi temple and adjoining areas after the alert inputs were provided to the state government. Talking to the media he said the required security measures were not in place at the temple and its vicinity even after IB and Delhi Police gave specific inputs.

Modi said there was a lack of coordination between the Centre and state government and alleged that the NIA and NSG teams took 12 hours to reach Bodh Gaya to start investigation. Thus precious evidences were allowed to be damaged or washed away in the heavy shower that lashed Bodh Gaya several hours after the blasts on Sunday.

The Centre, he said, should explain the delay in the arrival of NIA and NSG teams.

He said Nitish was not at all concerned about the attack as he had his political agenda in mind. Any other chief minister would have cancelled all political engagements and focussed on addressing issues related to terror attack.

Modi was referring to the meeting of Janata Dal (United) on Sunday which was postponed by just one hour as the chief minister returned from Bodh Gaya by then.
