Normal life hit by Magadh division bandh

Patna,(BiharTimes): Normal life was affected in Magadh division, particularly in Gaya district, on Monday following bandh (shutdown) calls given by BJP and RJD in protest against the utter failure of the state government in providing security to Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya.

While the BJP gave a call for Gaya bandh the RJD gave a similar call for Magadh bandh.

No report of untoward incident came from anywhere. Business establishments and shops remained closed in Bodh Gaya as bandh supporters took to the streets.

The town wore a deserted look as fewer vehicles plied on the roads.

BJP and RJD workers took out processions and raised slogans against the state government blaming it for security lapses.

In Jehanabad, RJD workers carrying party flags disrupted train services for several hours by sitting on the Patna-Gaya tracks. Some of them even climbed on engine of Jan Shatabdi Express in the morning.
In Nawada, Arwal and Aurangabad districts bandh supporters of both parties blocked roads and took out processions shouting slogans against the chief minister.

In Patna, RJD and BJP workers burnt effigies of the chief minister.
