CBI agrees to probe Mukhiyaji’s murder

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has agreed to probe the murder of Ranvir Sena chief, Brahmeshwar Singh alias Mukhiya. He was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Ara early on June 1, 2012 morning.

The Nitish government had, within weeks of the murder, requested the home ministry to hand over the case to the CBI but the latter had then expressed its inability to take it up on the plea of shortage of investigators due to several high-profile probes that were being handled by it.

Mukhiyaji’s murder was followed by large scale protest in Ara and Patna.
