It was left to Bhagwan bharose on blasts night in Bodh Gaya

Patna,(BiharTimes): The night before the July 7 blasts inside the Mahabodhi Temple there was no private security guard present at the complex.

A private agency was contracted for additional security two years ago. The contract was renewed last April.

However, the owner of the Cobra Security Agency, which was hired for the purpose, told a section of media that he was asked by the temple management committee not to deploy the guards during the night hour. He, however, has no documentation to support his claim.

He says his guards were deployed at the temple only from 5 am to 9 pm, when the temple is open to the public.

But, according to the temple management committee and the district authorities the surveillance contract was for 24 hours.

The district magistrate is reportedly inquiring into the matter.

It is now coming out that that even the presence of the Bihar Police personnel outside the premises was negligible on the night before the blasts.

Now the National Investigation Agency, which is probing the blasts, is questioning the security personnel deployed at the temple.

No arrests have been made in the case yet.

Four people, including a woman, were detained but were later released. The opposition parties are questioning their release as one of those detained persons was Gunjan Patel, a Janata Dal (United) office-bearer. He is said to be roaming about in a suspicious manner on that fateful night.
