CBI director’s daughter marries IAS officer

Patna,(BiharTimes): CBI Director Ranjit Sinha’s daughter, Rudrani Sinha, an Assistant Central Intelligence Officer in IB, married an IAS officer of 2009 batch, Avnish Kumar Sharan, here on Saturday

.
Those who attended the function were Bihar and Kerala governors D Y Patil and Nikhil Kumar respectively, Union minister and NCP leader Tariq Anwar, BJP leaders Sushil kumar Modi, Shahnawaz Hussain and Shatrughan Sinha, Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahai and senior police and IAS officers .
However, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav was conspicuous by his absence.


A reception would be held in Delhi on July 19 in which President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi, senior ministers are invited.


The marriage took place in 11 Strand Road ministerial bungalow located close to Raj Bhawan and chief minister’s residence.

Though most BJP leaders were not present because they were the one’s who opposed his appointment as CBI director, the absence of Lalu Yadav came as a bit surprise. Ranjit Sinha was earlier considered close to Lalu Yadav, who in return promoted him, when he was the railway minister.

Avnish, hails from Kewati village in Dalsinghsarai subdivision of Samastipur district and currently posted as municipal commissioner Bilaspur in Chhatisgarh. Rudrani was working as an analyst in the National Technology Research Organisation, on deputation from the Intelligence Bureau.
