Patna,(BiharTimes): The Raj Bhawan recently returned the ordinance pertaining to appointment of VCs and Pro-VCs through a search committee to the state government for necessary changes to make it in consonance with the regulation of University Grants Commission. This followed a commitment given to the Supreme Court in this regard.
However, three other important Bills related to higher education and another related to regulation of sports bodies are pending with
the Raj Bhawan.
The Bihar State Private Universities’ Bill, 2013 and Bihar Sports (Registration, Affiliations and Regulation of Sports Associations) Bill, 2013 were passed by the state Asssembly on April 2 last.
According to education minister P K Shahi he was not aware why the Bills had remained in the Raj Bhawan.
The minister said he did not know if any queries have been made by the Governor’s office or not on any of them so far. He said that when he would meet the governor he would discuss the matter with him.
