Ali Anwar again speaks for Ishrat, but is still silent on Forbesganj

Patna,(BiharTimes): Forbesganj is in Bihar while Mumbai is far away in Maharashtra. Still the Janata Dal (United) MP Ali Anwar got time off to call on the family members of Ishrat Jahan. On Tuesday he expressed his extreme pain after spending time with her family members and listening to their story.

The MP once again talked about the brave Bihar’s daughter and Bihar’s sister and accused the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat for 20 fake encounters.

It still remained a mystery as to why it took nine long years for Ali Anwar to meet Ishrat’s family and throw his party’s support in her favour. When all these encounters were taking place in Gujarat his party leader, Nitish Kumar, was showering praise on his Gujarat counterpart and calling him to take up national leadership.

Ali Anwar said on Tuesday that the family has been given temporary relief, for the time being. It is, in one way, almost established that it was a fake encounter.

Two years back, on June 3, 2011, a pregnant sister of Bihar along with an infant and two other men were killed in a brutal police firing at Bhajanpura village under Forbesganj sub-division of Araria district. The police opened fire when the local people were protesting against the construction of a starch factory on road. The injured were brought to the Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Ali Anwar never opened his mouth though there was no doubt over the barbarity of police in this case. One of the injured youths died after a homeguard jawan trampled on his body till he breathed his last. The photo was uploaded on various websites yet the Janata Dal (United) MP did not condemn the incident. The relatives of the victims are still fighting for justice and have not been paid any compensation.

Not to speak of Forbesganj he did not even went to meet the injured in PMCH though all the victims belonged to the Pasmanda Muslim community.

What is strange is that the factory belongs to the BJP MLC, Ashok Agrawal. The firing took place only three or four days after the visit of the then deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, to Forbesganj, to attend the marriage of the daughter of a BJP MLA.

Still Ali Anwar is yet to speak against the Bihar BJP leadership for obvious reason––his party is in power in Bihar.

May be nine years after this incident Ali Anwar speak about these sister and brothers of Bhajanpura.
