BJP questions JD(U)’s stand on Food Security Ordinance

Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after chief minister Nitish Kumar announced his party’s support for Food Security Ordinance BJP on Tuesdayquestioned his sudden change in stand and asked whether the Bihar government would implement it on the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi (August 20) as proposed by the UPA.

Talking to the media BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said his party would not oppose the Food Security Bill when it comes up for discussion and passage in Parliament but it wants the loopholes in the Bill to be removed.

The saffron party has already opposed some provisions of the Ordinance.

He said that a democratic country functions on the basis of mandate of the people and not through ordinances, but Congress has lost its mandate, he said adding that such practice is wrong.

Hussain said only the Congress-ruled states and Bihar are supporting the Food  Security Ordinance.
