Sharad disagrees with conspiracy theory of Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) appears to be seriously divided over the conspiracy theory of chief minister Nitish Kumar, his education minister, P K Shahi, state party chief, Vashisth Naayan Singh and party MP R C P Singh.

None else but the party’s national president Sharad Yadav said that it would not be fair to call it as conspiracy of BJP and RJD unless investigations are done.

Talking to media on Tuesday he said he did not know what the chief minister Nitish Kumar and education minister P K Shahi had said. One can reach a conclusion only after the probe is over.

“After the probe we don’t have to speak anything. The probe will speak for itself,” he added.

When asked that education minister P K Shahi had directly blamed the Opposition for the tragedy and refrained from taking responsibility, he said the responsibility to avoid recurrence of such incidents rests with the state government.

“Responsibility is ours” he said adding that it was the responsibility of the state government to provide proper food to children coming to school.

The Nitish government has repeatedly held the opposition parties responsible for both Bodh Gaya and Saran incidents.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav of BJP said the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is just an eyewash. It is meaningless in the sense that the SIT has been assigned to probe the incident a day after P K Shahi, charged that the incident was a part of well-planned conspiracy. How can a police team probe fearlessly when its minister has already jumped to the conclusion? he asked.

On the other hand the chief whip of the RJD, Samrat Choudhary, said it seemed that the chief minister has already hinted at the line of investigation the SIT, which works under the government, has to proceed. How can it defy the government diktat? he asked.

Opposition leaders alleged that the SIT probe would meet the same fate as the one ordered after the Khagaria firing last September. Ranvir Yadav, the husband of JD(U) MLA, Poonam Devi, snatched the gun of an armed guard to open fire when para-teachers were protesting before the chief minister. As Nitish justified the incident the SIT probe followed the government line, the opposition charged.
