JD sources accuse Nitish of using spies to keep track of Sharad Yadav

Patna,(BiharTimes): After Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav’s statement that it would not be fair to say that the Saran school tragedy was a conspiracy news of differences between him and chief minister Nitish Kumar has started appearing.

Tussle appears to be on between the Bihar unit and the central leadership.

One of the party’s national general secretaries, Chandra Raj Sanghvi, resigned from his post. Sanghvi, who hails from Rajasthan, in a hard-hitting letter to the party chief, accused Nitish of virtually taking over and hijacking the party. He came down heavily on the party’s decision to snap ties with the BJP.

Sanghvi said that to further his own political agenda Nitish Kumar used the excuse of Narendra Modi to cause split in the NDA. Sanghvi accused the Bihar chief minister of drifting towards the Congress.

As Singh’s resignation, Sharad’s disagreement on Saran tragedy and replacement of Shivanand Tiwary with K C Tyagi as the national spokesman, all came in a matter of a day or two analysts are keeping a close watch on the development.

Now reports quoting sources within Janata Dal (United) said that Nitish is using security officers posted at Sharad’s residence to keep a track of his activities. This development has strained relationship between the two leaders.

It is said that Bihar Police’s security guards posted at Sharad’s Delhi residence are keeping a track of who visits the national party chief and where he goes.

According to JD(U) sources in New Delhi Sharad was not too keen on breaking the alliance with BJP electoral compulsion forced him to follow Nitish’s diktat.

After the split Sharad is no more the NDA’s national convenor and lost much of his political clout within the party. Besides, he is known for being out and out anti-Congress throughout his life.
