Nitish wants to revive the fear of RJD rule among upper castes

Patna,(BiharTimes): Be it the Bodh Gaya bomb blasts or Saran school tragedy the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has repeatedly been clubbing together BJP and RJD.
Though both BJP and RJD leaders strongly deny any such possibility some independent political observers are of the view that JD(U) wants to send a certain message to the upper castemen in Bihar.
Nitish wanted to revive the fear of RJD rule in Bihar in the mind of the upper castemen. He wants to tell them that now both BJP and RJD have joined hands just for the sake of politics, which in the long run would be detrimental for the upper castes of the state.
However, analysts are doubtful whether this strategy of the chief minister would really work. After all the upper castes have grown mature and does not appear to be carried away by such propaganda. “They have tested Lalu Prasad and Nitish and found both as the two sides of the same coin. It was only just for the sake of power that Nitish pampered some upper caste leaders and officials. Otherwise he is more casteist than Lalu,” said an observer.
But upper castes too have voted strategically both in the past and would do so in the future. It is not that they have never voted for the RJD. Even in the Maharajganj by-poll of June 2 a large number of Rajputs voted for RJD as the candidate was Prabhunath Singh. Not only that some other upper castes too voted for RJD’s candidate as they wanted to teach Nitish a bitter lesson.
So it is to be seen how much this card of Nitish Kumar succeeds.
