Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as the BJP ministers skipped office for the second day on Friday Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi has called a meeting of all the party ministers at his Patna residence at 3 pm. Incidentally, Giriraj Singh and Ashwini Choubey are out of state.

The call for meeting came on the day when hectic efforts were made to save the alliance. BJP President Rajnath Singh told the media that he did not want the 17-year long alliance to break.

Earlier, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury met Sharad Yadav on Friday to discuss the current political situation. Since the JD(U) has hinted at splitting from the NDA, clamour for a Federal Front has been growing.

Senior BJP leaders, Nitin Gadkari and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also met Sharad Yadav at the behest of party chief Rajnath Singh. They urged JD(U) leaders not to go to the extent of breaking the alliance.
