Congress to abstain from no-trust vote

Patna,(BiharTimes): The four-member Congress Legislature Party, would abstain from the no-trust votes in Bihar Assembly.

This would pave the way for the Nitish Kumar government to sail through. The JD(U) has only 118 MLAs in the Assembly of 243. If the four MLAs abstain than the JD(U) would need the support of just 120 MLAs, which is not very difficult.

The decision came only a day after prime minister Manmohan Singh praised Nitish and called him secular.

On Tuesday Nitish acknowledged the praise.

Meanwhile, the CPI, which has only one MLA, has decided to support the Nitish government.
