‘Secular’ Nitish reciprocates, thanks Manmohan

Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh described Nitish Kumar as secular, the Bihar Chief Minister on Tuesday thanked the former for using such an expression for him.

Talking to the media he said the Prime Minister had spoken the truth and one should always speak the truth. He further added that “coming from the Prime Minister of the country, it certainly gives me comfort and I offer my heartiest thanks to him for saying so.”

On Monday the Prime Minister did not just call Nitish secular but said that "in politics there are no permanent enemies or permanent friends. We will decide as the situation evolves.”

To a question whether Congress looks at Janata Dal (United) as a future ally against the backdrop of the split in the NDA and would reach out to it Manmohan Singh said he could not speculate on that or what happens in the future. He just said the government need support of all right-minded parties in Parliament.
