Sushil Modi, Nand Kishore question Nitish’s love for Congress

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Wednesday questioned the new-found love of chief minister Nitish Kumar for the Congress Party.

Talking to the reporters Modi wondered as to why Nitish is showering praise on Congress when till a few days back Janata Dal (United) bigwigs, including he himself, were blaming Congress for corruption, misgovernance and all the ills plaguing the country.

He said the day is not far away when Janata Dal (United) leaders, including Nitish, would start singing paeans for Rahul Gandhi and raise slogans for making him prime minister.

Modi said that it is just for the sake of support of four MLAs that Nitish had sat on the lap of Congress.
Both Modi and leader of opposition in the State Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav, while delivering his speech in the House, reminded Nitish that he was the follower of socialist stalwarts Ram Manohar Lohia and Karpoori Thakur, who detested Congress throughout their life.

Nand Kishore attacked Nitish on several fronts, including his decision to scrap the MLA Local Area Development Fund. He said he was the won, who strongly opposed this move.

Without mincing his words he accused Nitish of being casteist, and the man who promoted criminalization of politics in Bihar. He said all the corrupt and criminal elements of RJD have crossed over to Nitish’s party and the chief minister is openly embracing them.

Both Modi, in the Press conference and Nand Kishore, in his speech, said that Nitish and his party would have to pay a heavy price in both the Lok Sabha and Assembly election. The people of the state would not pardon him, they added.
