Nitish meets Governor, but no cabinet expansion soon

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though chief minister Nitish Kumar had a dinner with Governor D Y Patil at Raj Bhawan on Thursday night reports quoting sources said that there is no immediate possibility of cabinet expansion. It is possible after the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly, which is to begin next month.
Independent MLAs Vinay Bihari, Dulal Chand Goswami, Som Prakash Singh and Pawan Kumar Jaiswal, are likely to be made ministers of state with independent charge.

Apart from them four Congress legislators, helped the government win the confidence vote.

There are in all 18 vacancies in the Nitish cabinet, including 11 caused by the sacking of the BJP ministers. Besides, there are 12 vacancies in the 75-member Legislative Council.

Reports suggest that water resources minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhury is likely to be the new finance minister of the state. No one, however, is likely to succeed Sushil Modi as deputy chief minister.

Apart from that Senior JD(U) legislator Shravan Kumar is likely to be inducted into the cabinet.

The Chief Minister, sources said, might induct at least one more Muslim minister for obvious reasons.
