Nitish on media over-drive after split

Patna,(BiharTimes): Finding himself at the receiving end of the media––for the first time in seven and a half years of rule––Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is on media overdrive.

He is giving interview to various renowned TV and print media journalists. A couple of days back he gave an interview to Sankarshan Thakur of the Telegraph. Then in the last couple of days he gave exclusive interview to Rajdeep Sardesai of CNN-IBN, Barkha Dutt of NDTV and Arnab Goswami of Times Now. In the days to come he may give some more interviews both to English and Hindi media.

However, it was to P R Ramesh and Ashok K Mishra of the Economic Times of the Times of India group that he gave first interview on June 17, that is just after divorce with BJP.

In Bihar, perhaps no politician knows the importance of the media better than Nitish.
The use of CDs by BJP to ‘expose’ him have caused a lot of embarrassment to Janata Dal United leaders and supporters. The BJP is repeated playing up how Nitish in the past showered praise on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi.

After the break up of alliance with BJP the media has shown some signs of independence in Bihar. The grip of Nitish on the Press seems to be loosening.
