BJP should have made Sushma as its PM candidate: JD(U)MP

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) said on Saturday that the senior BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj, should have been considered for the post of Prime Minister as she is a woman as well as the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

Party MP Ali Anwar said Sushma is non-controversial leader as well as good orator. But the whole nation is watching as to how this party, which talks about India’s ancient culture and civilization, sidelined a woman and an elderly person (referring to L K Advani.)

Ali Anwar said Advani’s fight in BJP is on and there are several other leaders in the party who support him. So, what he has said is a result of that. He is saying that the BJP cannot do anything all alone. It is a coalition era and so none of the parties can do anything all alone.

Incidentally, only on Friday Advani, while speaking at a function organised to pay tributes to the founder of Jan Sangh (the earlier version of BJP) Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, emphasized on the need to join hands with other political parties to defeat the Congress.

Obviously, he was referring to the break of 17 years long relationship with Janatg Dal (United).

The former deputy prime minister said the Jan Sangh leader had realised the importance of allying with other parties opposed to the Congress rule during first national meet of erstwhile Jan Sangh in Kanpur in 1952.
