BJP accuses Nitish of showing insensitivity towards Choubey

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party has accused chief minister Nitish Kumar of showing utter insensitivity towards the former health minister, Ashwini Kumar Choubey.

The state party chief, Mangal Pandey, said on Friday that Nitish Kumar did not show any interest in taking up the issue of safety and security of Choubey, who was on his pilgrimage to Kedarnath, with Uttarakhand government.

Choubey was a minister in the Nitish government for more than seven years and was unceremoniously dismissed (along with 10 other BJP ministers) when he and his family members were fighting against natural calamity in Uttarakhand.

He said when Choubey reached Delhi on Thursday he was even denied the facility of vehicle at Bihar Niwas. Finally BJP leader in Delhi arranged vehicle for him, he added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, Awadesh Narayan Singh, visited Fortis Hospital in New Delhi to inquire about the health of Choubey.

It needs to be recalled that three close members of Choubey’s family died in this disaster. Besides, his three security guards and priest are missing.

Choubey and his family, who were stranded in a temple in Kedarnath, were rescued and brought to Dehradun by a helicopter on Wednesday. While Choubey, his wife, two sons and their families have been rescued, others who accompanied him to pilgrimage, have most probably lost their lives.
