Five die in police firing in Bihar village

Patna,(BiharTimes): Five people were killed, three of them on spot, in a police firing in Bagaha police district of north-west Bihar on Monday.

According to Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) S K Bharadwaj a police team had gone to Katharawa village to probe a murder case of youth when a mob started pelting stones on it. The police opened fire when the mob became unruly and situation turned out of control.

While three villagers died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries in a hospital. Besides, 26 people were injured, 25 of them policemen, in the incident.
