Outgoing BJP ministers face eviction order

Patna,(BiharTimes): Authorities have started issuing eviction order to all the 11 BJP ministers who were sacked by the chief minister Nitish Kumar on June 16 last after the split in the ruling NDA.

These former ministers would now shift to the quarters meant for legislators. Most of these outgoing ministers have been residing in posh bungalow in the heart of Patna. In comparison to that the MLA flats are much smaller in size and relatively less maintained. Some of them are in dilapidated condition.

Sources said that they have been asked to vacate the bungalows at the earliest so that the new ministers could be accommodated. The cabinet expansion is due any day, though some reports suggest that it may take place after the Monsoon Session of the state Assembly.

The state is already facing shortage of bungalows and flats as old ones are being dismantled. They are likely to be replaced by new ones.

Reports said that at present the government flats are available for only 140 lawmakers out of a total of over 300––243 MLAs and 75 MLCs.
