P K Shahi denies relationship with CBI judge

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar education minister Prashant Kumar Shahi on Wednesday denied that the Ranchi CBI special judge, P K Singh, is his relatives.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad has sought transfer of the judge in the fodder scam case (RC 20 A/96) from the court of P K Singh to some other court on the plea that the judge is a relative of a minister in the Nitish Kumar government.

Lalu, another former chief minister Dr Jagannath Mishra and 42 others, are accused in the case. Lalu has moved Jharkhand High Court, seeking transfer of this case expressing apprehension of not getting ‘justice’ from the court on the ground that the said CBI judge is a close relative of Shahi.

Shahi on the other hand expressed his surprise and said that Lalu Prasad just wants to delay the judicial process. He said that he came to know that the judge is his relative only after Lalu moved Jharkhand High Court. If this is the case he should have done it much earlier, he added.
