Jharkhand HC reserves ruling on Lalu’s petition

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Jharkhand High Court on Friday reserved judgment on a petition filed by Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad seeking transfer of the fodder scam case out of the Ranchi CBI court of Pravas Kumar Singh.

The verdict in this case was to be pronounced on July 15, but Lalu had filed the petition as he feared that he would not get justice as the judge is a relative of Bihar’s education minister, P K Shahi.

Talking to reporters in Ranchi senior Supreme Court lawyer Ram Jethmalani, who appeared on behalf of Lalu Prasad, said the court reserved its judgment and may pass the order on Monday

Lalu had sought transfer of fodder scam case number RC 20/96 from the CBI court of Pravas Kumar Singh, claiming that he was a relative of Shahi.
