BJP, JD(U) ministers clash in Bihar Assembly after Nitish’s praise for Union Budget

Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after chief minister Nitish Kumar praised the Union Budget two of his ministers––BJP’s Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Janata Dal (United)’s Vijendra Yadav––openly clashed in the state Assembly.
The entire House was stunned as perhaps never in recent memory two senior ministers of the ruling alliance got locked in such a verbal duel.
It all started when health minister Ashwini Choubey lost his cool over opposition RJD members and shouted at another ministerial colleague who tried to intervene.
During Question Hour, while answering a query of RJD’s Akhtar-ul-Islam Shaheen (Samastipur), the minister lost his cool over opposition members interrupting him.
When Parliamentary Affairs minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav tried to say something, Choubey, shouted at him asking him to let him speak. This was followed by pandemonium and nothing much could be heard.
The atmosphere was already surcharged with both JD(U) and BJP leaders holding totally different views on the Union Budget. Animal Husbandry minister Giriraj Singh asked as to why was there so much praise for Chidambaram by chief minister Nitish Kumar. The water resources minister, Vijay Chaudhary, hit back at Giriraj.
Angry over the minister’s behaviour during answer of starred question of the RJD MLA, the party members walked out of the Assembly in protest and asked Speaker Udai Narayan Chaudhary to send the minister out of the House.
Choubey has recently been in the news for his remarks. Recently he called another RJD MLA, Akhtar-ul-Iman a Pakistani agent after he raised the issue of Surya Namaskar in the Assembly and accused the Nitish Kumar government of imposing the RSS agenda.
Earlier, Choubey had verbal duel with RJD MLA Bhai Birendra who had asked him to tender apology for dubbing RJD legislators as “Kalnegi”, a mythical character of Ramayan considered inauspicious.
