Lalu mistook Narendra Modi for Sushil Modi: Bihar Deputy CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi claimed on Tuesday that the RJD chief Lalu Prasad would not have received the telephone call of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had he known about the identity of the person on the other end in advance.

Talking to reporters here he felt that Lalu would not have received Narendra Modi’s phone call to inquire about his health if he had known that it was the Gujarat Chief Minister on phone. He perhaps mistook that “it was I who had called him to inquire about his health and not the other Modi.”

However, Sushil Modi said that he did talk to him later on Saturday and added that it was a courtesy call which leaders of other parties make to congratulate them or sympathise with them from time to time.

Though there is nothing political in Lalu’s Friday night accident in Raghopur it has become a topic of discussion as chief minister Nitish Kumar did not call on him. The RJD chief himself did not complain but it was the media who raised the question before the CM on Monday.

Nitish instead dismissed the issue jokingly asking Lalu to fasten his seat belt while sitting in the front seat of a car. This did not go down well in political circle as one does not joke with the rival when he is injured.

Nitish felt somewhat cut up because the Gujarat Chief Minister was among the earliest callers to inquire about Lalu’s health condition.

Lalu not only made public that he received call from Gujarat CM but even the latter tweeted about his telephonic conversation with the RJD supremo.
