Nitish faces Narendra Modi posters, protest from crowd in Gaya

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar faced different types of protest during his Sewa Yatra on Wednesday in Gaya.

Firstly, some people protested against the pitiable condition of the town, which is facing acute shortage of water and electricity.

The appearance of posters praising Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in the vicinity of Gaya collectorate angered Janata Dal (United) leaders. The posters described Narendra Modi as the people's choice to head the next government at the Centre in 2014.

However, the posters put up by the Narendra Modi Vichar Manch, were removed before the arrival of the chief minister on the venue.

Similar Modi posters had appeared when the chief minister was in Gopalganj on May 2 and Sitamarhi.

Janata Dal (United) spokesman Shivanand Tiwary strongly criticized the posters and called it as the handiwork of those who want to see break up in the JD(U)-BJP alliance. He said that his party has taken notice of this serious provocation.

However, the state BJP chief Mangal Pandey was quoted in the media as saying that the appearance of posters was a spontaneous expression of party workers' sentiment.

Last Sep-Oct when Nitish undertook Adhikar Yatra he faced hostile crowd of para-teachers almost all over the state. They even pelted stones, rotten eggs and waved black flags forcing the state administration to provent anyone wearing black from entering the venues.

In Khagaria Ranvir Yadav, a local strongman and the husband of JD(U) MLA, Poonam Devi, snatched a gun from a policeman to open fire in the air to disperse the protesting mob. However, Nitish defended his act.
