MS student arrested for forgery in exam

Patna,(BiharTimes): A Central Bureau of Investigation team from New Delhi on Saturday arrested a final-year student of Master of Surgery (MS) at Patna Medical College and Hospital on charges of impersonation, cheating and fraud in examination.

Dr Amrendra Kumar was taken into custody as he came out after appearing for the practical examinations.

Amrendra is a resident of Musepur village in Nalanda district. As per the charges he had hired a ghost-writer for the 2010 entrance examination for MS (General) conducted by the CBSE.

Interestingly, in the last few years Nalanda district has became infamous for such examination racket. One of the kingpin in the question leak scandal, Dr Ranjit Don, was arrested some years back.

In Dr Amrendra’s case the photograph, thumb impression of the left hand and signature on the admit card of the ghost-writer did not match with him. Amrendra was produced before a special CBI court in Patna and subsequently taken to New Delhi on a three-day transit remand.

Patna Medical College principal Dr N.P. Singh confirmed the arrest but refused to divulge any more information.
