Bihar lifts ban on contractual appointment

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday lifted the ban on contractual appointments in different boards, corporations and other departments. Now, they can appoint employees on contract basis by relaxing the age and other criterion. The ban was imposed on December 20, 2012.

The permission for contractual appointment on sanctioned posts was given on the condition that the department concerned should complete process for regular appointments on these posts within one year.

Person working on contract or had functioned on the same condition in the past should be given weightage in regular appointments by relaxing the age requirement.

Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday, principal secretary, cabinet secretariat department, Brajesh Mehrotra said the government also gave its nod to the amendment to the Bihar Khas Mahal Policy, 2011, by which any social, religious, cultural and educational organization working for the last 40 years on the Khas Mahal land would not be charged stamp duty on the renewal of their lease if the land on which they are operating is not more than five acres.

He also said that the resident commissioner of Bihar Bhavan and Bihar Niwas in Delhi had been empowered to appoint a selection committee for appointment of Group 'D' staff for both the establishments since their number had drastically reduced in recent times.
