JD(U) leader roasted alive after land dispute with tribals

Patna,(BiharTimes): A Janata Dal(United) leader and husband of a mukhiya, Jainendra Mandal, was allegedly roasted alive following a protracted dispute over a 17-acre plot of land at village Kishunpur-Balwa under Dhamdaha police station of Purnia district on Friday afternoon.

Reports reaching Patna said that dispute with tribals was the reason behind his gruesome murder.

According to Kishanganj SP, Manoj Kumar, who is also SP in charge of Purnia, tribals were in possession of the disputed land.

The 35-year-old Jainendra was the husband of Kishunpur-Balwa mukhia, Simo Devi. He claimed that the aforesaid land was bought by him.

Jainendra was allegedly set on fire when he tried to oust the tribals and take possession of the land on Friday.

Purnia district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma and SP rushed to the spot. Heavy police deployment has been made in the village.
