Patna,(BiharTimes): Entertainer Shekhar Suman on Tuesday revealed how far he has moved away from Congress––on whose ticket he contested 2009 Lok Sabha election from Patna Saheb––when he said he supports Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s candidature for the post of Prime Minister. He, however, hastened to add that he is not joking.

He praised Modi by stating he had done wonderful work in Gujarat by giving good governance. He certainly deserves a chance to do the same for the country.

He said that he accepted Congess ticket because he wanted to work earnestly for the development of his home state, Bihar. However, he is himself not sure of contesting 2014 general election.

But unlike in 2009 he was critical of Congress-led UPA government and said everyday a new scam involving big politicians is surfacing. Now the responsibility to run the country should be given to somebody who possess positive energy, he said giving enough hint that he backs Modi.

Though he threw his weight behind Gujarat CM he had a word of praise for the Bihar counterpart, Nitish Kumar, who according to him has done good work.
