Bihar cabinet approves Rs 300 crore incentive to industries

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 300 crore for giving subsidies, grants and tax exemptions to entrepreneurs who have made investments in accordance with the Industrial Incentive Policy of 2006 and 2011.

The decision in this regard was taken by the state cabinet on Tuesday.

The amount will be spent on the reimbursement of VAT and stamp duty, capital subsidies, electricity duties exemption, grants for purchase of generators, for setting up units of captive power generation and non-conventional sources of energy, for preparing detailed project report or getting ISO or similar certification or carbon credit.
It also decided to transfer 17.62 acres of ‘gairmazarua’ land (government land) to the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL) for the construction of a thermal power plant at Kajra in Lakhisarai district. The land transfer was made after making the payment of Rs 2.75 crore. It would be given to a shortlisted private firm willing to set up the plant after making its full payment in a single instalment.
According to Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat Department Brajesh Mehrotra the cabinet also approved the proposal of the environment and forest department to extend Haryali Mission project from five districts now to all the 38 districts of the state.

The cabinet also approved a proposal of the animal and fisheries department to launch an integrated goat and shepherd development project under the agriculture road map for a period of four years starting from 2013-14. A sum of Rs 700.42 crore has been approved for the purpose.

The cabinet approved Rs 94.93 crore for laying the water pipeline in four blocks of Vaishali district under the centrally-sponsored National Rural Drinking Water Programme.

The cabinet also approved a sum of Rs 510 crore (Rs 30 crore for each district) for the development of 17 districts under the Mukhyamantri Zila Vikas Yojana' (CM district development project).

The proposal of the SC, ST welfare department for the creation of three posts of gazetted rank officers in the office of Bihar Mahadalit Vikas Mission was also cleared.
