BJP, JD(U) debate ‘outsider’ remark of Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party has turned the table on chief minister Nitish Kumar after the latter’s remark that only Biharis can do good for Bihar.

Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and state party chief, Mangal Pandey, have asked Nitish as to what is his stand on the Janata Dal (United) national president, Sharad Yadav, who is originally from Madhya Pradesh, but represents Madhepura in the Lok Sabha and party Rajya Sabha MP, K C Tyagi, who is from UP.

Not only that founder leader of the party, George Fernandes, who had represented Muzaffarpur and Nalanda is originally from Karnataka. Did not he do any good to Bihar, particularly Nitish’s own constituency of Nalanda, they asked.

Besides, there are a large number of non-Biharis who had represented variousparliamentary constituencies from the state in Lok Sabha. They are Acharya Kripalini, Minoo Masani, Ravindra Verma, Madhu Limaye etc.

But Janata Dal (United) was quick to clarify the stand by stating that Sharad Yadav and George Fernandes were in all practical purpose Biharis as they came all the way to make Bihar their home. They had contested elections and worked for the people of Bihar as well as the parliamentary constituencies they represented.

It needs to be recalled that a couple of days back Nitish Kumar took a dig at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, by stating that an “outsider” can not do any good to Bihar.
