BJP leader challenges Nitish to contest LS poll from Nalanda

Patna,(BiharTimes): The leader of opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, on Sunday surprised political observers as well as rivals when he openly challenged the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to contest the coming Lok Sabha election from his home turf, the Nalanda parliamentaryseat.

Yadav said that the people of Nalanda is ready to teach Nitish a lesson for betraying them. So if the party allows him to contest he would eagerly contest Lok Sabha election from Nalanda in 2014 to defeat Nitish Kumar at his home.

However, the Janata Dal (United) termed the BJP leader’s challenge as totally absurd and nonsense and asked why the chief minister of state would fight parliamentary election. The saffron party leaders are speaking something which even they do not know, the party said in a statement.
The party said that the present JD(U) MP, Kaushlendra, would contest the election from Nalanda and Yadav should instead take on him, rather than talk of fighting with the chief minister, who has no plan whatsoever to go to Parliament.

However, some analysts are of the view that Nand Kishore Yadav has, by stating so, staked his claim for the party’s ticket from Nalanda Lok Sabha seat. His remarks has less to do with Nitish and more to assert within the BJP, which is busy in selecting the candidate for different Lok Sabha seats.
