Bihar to strengthen planning board


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to strengthen the Bihar state planning board on the pattern of Planning Commission of India.

In all it will appoint 35 professionals on contractual basis. Retired personnel from UPSC, BPSC, and Planning Commission are likely to be appointed as senior consultants. 

Out of the total 35 professionals, 14 would be appointed as young professionals, 14 as consultants and seven senior consultants.

Applications will be invited from various professionals and experts for this purpose.

According to the State Cabinet Ssecretary Brajesh Mehrotra the team of professionals would be responsible for timely implementation of the state plans, besides mid-term appraisal of the plan and its monitoring. The team is also expected to help in formulating the five-year plan of the state, undertake in-depth research work, evaluate projects, analysis of data, hold workshops and seminars.
