Sushil Modi disapproves Lekhi’s “insane” remark against Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Pushed to the backfoot former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday disapproved his party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi’s “insane” remark about chief minister Nitish Kumar. She had also said on Monday that Bihar “needs more mental institutes.”

Talking to the media on Wednesday Modi appealed to leaders of both parties to adopt restraint.

His statement came after a massive reaction not only from the chief minister but also from leaders of other political parties.

Modi conceded that incidents like the terrorist attack on Parliament occurred during the NDA rule––as alleged by Janata Dal (United). However, he added this happened in spite of best security arrangements and can in no way be equated with the Patna serial blasts which took place because of the total negligence of the state government.

He once again sought the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and claimed that in comparison to Hunkar Rally 13,000 policemen were deployed and CCTVs and metal detectors installed, and dog squads were used for JD(U)’s Adhikar Rally at the same venue on November 4 last year.
The former deputy CM said that the recent JD(U) Chintan Shivir at Rajgir, which was attended by 5,000 party leaders and workers, had much better security arrangement.
He said that instead of sermonizing the political opponents the chief minister should give a pointed response to the security arrangement his government made for the Hunkar Rally.

However, for a change, Modi complimented police officials for doing their best to ensure security for the rally and alleged that it was the political leadership which was to blame for the security lapses.

Modi, who is the leader of opposition in Bihar Legislative Council, said that his party would raise the Patna serial blasts issue during the Winter Session of the Assembly beginning from December 6.
