Rabri Devi launches Parivartan Yatra with an eye on poor, minorities

Patna,(BiharTimes): While the killers of 58 Mahadalits and backwards got acquitted the leader of poor, Lalu Prasad, has been jailed on the framed up charge. With this as the central theme former chief minister Rabri Devi on Monday launched her Parivartan Yatra from Sherghatty sub-division of Gaya distict.

Describing BJP as Ravana and Janata Dal (United) as Kans she said in the absence of Lalu Yadav all the workers of the party should work like Lalu Prasad.

The party has planned rallies in all divisional headquarters and subsequently district headquarters and Assembly constituencies to galvanise party workers for the 2014 Lok Sabha election.

Flanked by both the sons Tej Pratap and Tejaswi and senior leaders like Prabhunath Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav and Ghulam Ghouse, she criticized the Nitish Kumar government for rampant corruption and loot in the state. She said none else but his government is responsible for the rise of communal forces in Bihar.

She said while Lalu Yadav government arrested Lal Krishna Advani and stopped his Rath Yatra Nitish has always praised the BJP patriarch.

Through the Parivartan Yatra the RJD is trying to re-organize the party and regain the lost ground.

Speaking on the occasion Tejaswi said development is visible only in liquor business, corruption and crime while the rest is only announcement. He also said that fodder scam was there since 1977 and Lalu was in fact instrumental in exposing it. It was he who got the raids conducted against the scamsters. It was a deep-rooted conspiracy to implicate Lalu Prasad.

Earlier before leaving for Sherghatty Rabri told newsmen in Patna that her party would fight against both JD(U) and BJP to restore social dignity to poor, backwards and minorities in the state.

As this is Rabri’s first public meeting after the conviction of Lalu Prasad political observers are keeping a close watch on the development as RJD is fast replacing JD(U) as the likely challenger to BJP.
