Nitish hits out at Narendra Modi at book release function

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though the occasion was the release of a book on Ram Manohar Lohia, but the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar chose to hit out at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi.

Though he started off with saying that the Lohiates themselves have let down the socialist ideologue and squandered three opportunities to run the country––in 1967, 1977 and 1989––yet he went on to launch a direct counter-attack on Narendra Modi.

He said that the anti-Congress parties got mandate to rule seven states in 1967, and the whole country once in 1977 and again in 1989 but they lost all three opportunities.

Then referring to Modi he said that the BJP leader had been making baseless allegations against him.

“It was alleged that I was relishing food at JD(U) convention in Rajgir on the day of Patna serial blasts. They accused me of lowering the dignity of politics when it was proved that I was in Patna on that
day,” the chief minister added.

According to him the saffron party “wants people to accept whatever they are saying, right or wrong.”

The book, “Haashiye Par Padi Duniya” was authored by Balkrishna Gupta.
