Report card a bundle of lies, says RJD; nothing to offer in last five
months, claims BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): While the Rashtriya Janata Dal termed chief minister’s eighth report card as a “bundle of lies” and “an attempt to hoodwink common people” the Bharatiya Janata Party said that the chief minister should have given the accounts of the last five months only.

Reacting to the report, former deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, said the chief minister did not talk about the spurt in terror attacks and Maoist violence since he sacked the BJP ministers from his
government on pm June 16. The report card remained silent on the security lapses at Gandhi Maidan and at Bodh Gaya. The crime graph is rising and there has been an alarming increase in violence against women. While in other parts of the country, Maoists violence is under control, in Bihar it is up by 41 per cent. Why Nitish Kumar remained soft on terrorists and Maoists and kept mum over the issue in the report, the BJP leader asked.

SuMo claimed whatever Nitish government achieved in the last seven and half years were washed away in the last five months. The CM should have explained only achievements of last five months.

Leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, said the chief minister ended up highlighting the achievements of the departments which were held by the BJP ministers till June 16 last.
The CM tried to take the credit of the achievements of BJP ministers.

State BJP president Mangal Pandey said there was no mention of poor expenditure on plan schemes in the last five months. The growth rate in all infrastructure departments has come down, he said, adding all departments held by the then BJP ministers had performed well and contributed to the goodwill of the state government.

On the other hand RJD secretary general and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Kripal Yadav and state spokesman Ejaz Ahmad, in a joint statement, said the report has not mentioned anything on the recurrent attempts being made to snatch the rights and social prestige of backwards, dalits, mahadalits, minorities and women under the Nitish regime.

They questioned the silence of Nitish government on the big jump in incidents of loot, murder and gang rape which only proves that there is no system of governance in the state. The report card has failed to
explain the state government’s vision for development of poor and rural areas," they said.

The RJD would come out with “People’s Report Card” on November 28.
