Union cabinet approves transfer of land for Gaya CUB

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Union cabinet on Tuesday approved transfer of 300 acres of defence land to the Human Resources Development Ministry for the establishment of Central University of Bihar in Gaya.

The 300-acre plot is an abandoned airfield at Panchanpur some 15 km from the district headquarters of Gaya.

According to an official statement issued in New Delhi the transfer of land would fulfil the requirement of land for the development of the Central University in Bihar, which would serve the national cause for quality higher education, research and training in unserved and under-served areas.

The Central University of Bihar is among the 16 newly- established central universities by the central government under the Central Universities Act

Bihar had got two CUBs––another one in Motihari in East Champaran.

The University is presently located at the premises of Birla Institute of Technology in Patna.
