Heavy rain throws life out of gear in Bihar

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar has been witnessing average to heavy rainfall since Cyclone Phailin lashed eastern coast of India, especially Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Saturday night. Rain and high speed wind threw normal life out of gear in many parts of the state. Bad weather severely hit Durga Puja celebration with Ravan Dahan organized in Patna on Sunday intead of Monday
Rain is more heavy in large parts of Bihar adjoining Jharkhand. Districts like Gaya, Aurangabad, Lakhisarai, Nawada etc saw heavy rainfall. However, no loss of life has been reported from anywhere in the state. 
Director General, Meteorology, L S Rathore, said a flood warning has been issued to Bihar in view of the cyclone.
He warned that plains of Bihar and the catchment areas of Kosi and Gandhak rivers would receive heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours when the system moves to Nepal.
