Patna,(BiharTimes): Keeping in mind the threat of flood a high-level meeting headed by the chief minister Nitish Kumar took place in Patna on Mondaymid-noon. The meeting took stock of the situation in all the districts and reviewed loss of property and life––if any.

Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Sinha, Home Secretary Amir Subhani, Disaster Management Secretary Vyasji Mishra and other high administrative and police officials were present on the occasion.
Later the chief minister held Video-conferencing with the districts magistrates and superintendents of police.

Earlier, the state government sounded high alert in 28 flood-prone districts following a warning issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in the wake of Cyclone Phailin.

Almost the entire state, including capital Patna, witnessed heavy rain last night. The rainfall has receded in south Bihar while north Bihar continues to have heavy downpour. Almost all the rivers of the state are flooded.

Officials said that as the rainfall is moving towards Nepal heavy rain in the Himalayan republic may cause further flooding in the rivers originating from there. So the threat of flood will continue to loom large in the next few days.
