Pre-poll surveys just a manoranjan: CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday dubbed the pre-poll surveys done by different agencies as ‘manoranjan’ (entertainment) and PR exercise.

Talking to the media on Monday he said after the results these very media pundits would try to find fault with the electronic voting machines. He dismissed surveys which showed that the BJP and RJD would be doing much better this time than his own party, Janata Dal (United).

Nitish questioned the very basis of the surveys stating that they are based on small samples of only 4,000 and without considering the fact that India does not have a bipolar political set up but a multi-party system.

He said that through such PR exercise false claims are made that mood of the nation is in the favour of a particular party.

The chief minister said that even in 2010 Assembly election of Bihar some of these surveys predicted hung Assembly.

Nitish said those basking in the glory of such surveys will have no place to hide their faces after the election results will be declared.

He refused to answer anything on the distribution of party tickets to candidates stating that “this is not may domain.” It is for the national president of the party to decide or for the state president to recommend the names, he added.
