C P Thakur warns of return of caste-war in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Fearing that Bihar may once again plunge into caste war the BJP Vice President, Dr C P Thakur, demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, government jobs to one member of each of the seven victims of Pisai killing, CBI probe into the incident, besides construction of roads and setting up a permanent police station in the village and implementation of central and state government schemes for development of Maoist-infested areas.

Talking to the media in Patna on Monday after his return from Pisai in Aurangabad district he said a spectre of caste strife loomed large in the state if the Nitish government failed to take measures to prevent inicident like last Thursday’s Maoist attack in Aurangabad district in which seven people were killed.

Replying to a question at a Press conference he said the entire region were targeted by the ultras in 1990s as well, yet successive state governments have failed to take lessons to prevent such incidents.
Dr Thakur questioned the failure of the intelligence and added that lack of development has made the rural people a soft target of the Maoists.

He came down heavily on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not visiting Pisai village to console the grieving families. He cautioned that the indifferent attitude of the JD(U) government may prompt the rural people to deal with the Maoists in their own way as was the case in 1990s.

It needs to be recalled that Indu Bhushan, son of late Ranvir Sena founder Brahmeshwar Singh had too warned the state government of the similar possibility if it fails to check such incident.

“The Nitish govt must come clear as to what is its policy. If Nitish Kumar fails to stop these killings, we will have no choice left but to retaliate,” he told Aaj Tak, a private TV channel.
