Time to make up for the cancelled dinner to Narendra Modi: Bihar BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): The people of Bihar have now got an opportunity to make up for the cancellation of dinner on June 12, 2010 hosted for BJP bigwigs following the publication of an old photo in an advertisement showing Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar hand-in-hand with his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi.

This was what the BJP leaders of Bihar are now stating.

The BJP had held its two day national executive in Patna on June 12-13, 2010 and the advertisement was published on its eve in newspapers on June 12. This upset Nitish who cancelled the dinner the same evening. Not only Narendra Modi, even Lal Krishna Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and several BJP chief ministers were expected to attend that dinner.

According to the leader of opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, the Bihar chief minister insulted the BJP top brass, most prominently, Narendra Modi. Now it is time to practice the culture of treating guests as Atithee Devo Bhawa and extent full warmth to him and all the guests.

Though Modi had come once to Bihar since then, yet that was not a public meeting. He was here to pay respect to senior BJP leader, Kailashpati Mishra, who died last year.

This is the first time that he would be addressing public meeting after June 13, 2010. Now he would not be addressed just as the Gujarat chief minister, but also as the prime ministerial candidate of the saffron party.

Bihar BJP leaders are now saying that they can never forget the insult heaped on them by Nitish Kumar on June 12, 2010. Yet 11 of their leaders remained in the Nitish ministry till June 16,,2013 and left the post only after being sacked by the chief minister himself. But they are quick to argue that they did all this for the larger interest of the alliance politics.

Nand Kishore Yadav said that this time the people of Bihar would not only treat well Narendra Modi but all the participants of the Hunkar Rally.

Proper fooding and lodging arrangement have been made in this regard. For example lunch packs had been prepared for the rallyists who would converge to Gandhi Maidan from all over the state.

The Patna City unit of the BJP has planned to distribute one lakh packet of chura and gur. Besides, drinking water arrangement has been made for the people.
