Nitish condemns blasts as toll rises to five; seeks NIA’s help

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar cancelled his visit to Munger and Rajgir after half a dozen blasts in Patna on the eve of Hunkar Rally day in Patna.

He talked to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and sought the help of National Investigative Agency (NIA) to probe the matter.

Nitish was to fly to Munger an hour after his Gujarat’s counterpart Narendra Modi’s plane was to touch the Patna international airport.

He was to attend the International Yoga conference. After that he was to move to Rajgir, where his party is to hold its two-day Chintan Shivir (Brainstorming Camp) on October 27-28.

In Rajgir he was to lay the foundation of infrastructure development projects of Bramhkund, Makhdoom Kund and Guru Nanak Kund. A delegation of European Union envoys was also likely to call on the CM at Rajgir to discuss the Nalanda University project.

All his cabinet ministers, party MPs (except the rebels and suspended ones), legislators, office-bearers and other leaders are expected to be there for two days.

Party’s national chief Sharad Yadav reached Patna on Sunday evening. He will proceed to Rajgir next morning.

However, after the blasts there is a question mark whether the Shivir will be organized or not.

Meanwhile, two of the five persons who died have been identified. They are Rajan Singh of Fatehpur and Vijay Kumar of Kaimur district. The PMCH authorities have confirmed that five persons have died and 71 sustained injuries.
